DOUBLE BILL

Switch_MCR Presents: A Double Bill of shows.

Two Acts. Two Plays. Two Weeks.

June 27th - July 9th

After two years, we're returning to the stage with two bold, new, dynamic plays, working with new writers and creatives.

"Not just one, but TWO fabulous new plays for the price of one! Absolute bargain if you ask me.
We’re so excited to bring these two to you after two long years of too much self isolation.
After being denied theatre for so long, we’re coming back with a bang by giving you twice as much theatre in one evening."

 - James Butterfield - Head of New Writing.

Senses of Responsibility by Lekhani Chirwa.

Young carer Symonie struggles to come to terms with her Mum’s genetic condition, caring for her whilst trying to live a ‘normal’ life and the dilemma of deciding whether to get tested for the condition herself. The play explores the complex consequences and downfall of putting others before yourself. Written in 5 acts following the 5 senses - taste, touch, sound, vision and smell. Should Symonie go off to live her own life or continue to care as she has always known?

Blue Moss by Joseph Conway.

From our undergrown world, Blue Moss takes place in the overgrowth. Surrounded by

an effervescent, encapsulating blue moss, Simone, Alex and Abraham find themselves

held within this vast, unending forest, trapped within a clearing but a few metres wide.

In this realm, they learn to cope with each other, their pasts, and the many questions this

world poses. Swimming in memories, claustrophobia, and dreams, the question arises-

how can these three not-quite-human foragers cope, and not cope, with this loneliness?
