About the event
Have you ever felt tripped up by stanzas? Terrified of villanelles? Tortured by a haiku?
Ever felt less high brow, more high school when faced with Shakespeare’s sonnets?
In this poetry workshop we aim to dispel all the fears around writing poetry and explore the joy that comes with writing for stage or page.
Looking specifically at tradition and the cyclical nature of celebration, this workshop should leave you confident and connected to your inner wordsmith.
Run by Jordan Skelly, a queer poet, performer, writer and theatre maker who writes with flow and passion. They have created work alongside Royal Exchange, MIF, Contact Theatre, Manchester Museum, ImPact Dance Company and Young Identity to name a few.
